Eldercare's Acacia Court facility was originally built by the City of Woodville in 1983, and was acquired by Eldercare in 2001.
Environment and Services
Acacia Court is one of our larger sites and we are currently planning for a major redevelopment and expansion, which will increase the availability of aged care services for residents in the Western suburbs. Our site is easily accessible by car or public transport.
We offer occupational, physio and speech therapies, podiatry and rehabilitation facilities to the local community at our well-equipped Day Therapy service. There is a weekly GP clinic on site, as well as regular visits from podiatrists and dentists and screening checks for general health, eyesight and hearing.
Acacia Court caters for over 100 residents from diverse cultural backgrounds and our lifestyle program is designed to celebrate this diversity. Our adaptive and flexible program is also tailored to the needs of residents with dementia and other health issues.
Residents and families are encouraged to enjoy our shaded interior courtyard and pond, where a family of native ducks has taken up residence.
As part of the Seniors Online program, residents enjoy the use of a computer kiosk, as well as one-on-one interaction using iPads. Acacia Court embraces the use of technology to enhance lifestyle opportunities and reduce social isolation for our residents.
Community and Social Networks
The Charles Sturt Council community bus is used regularly for outings and Council has also supplied a collection of large print books.
Residents are encouraged to maintain community links and assisted to attend offsite meetings with groups such as Legacy, Lions and Rotary.
As part of our intergenerational program, local schools and kindergartens celebrate events with residents and perform recitals for us several times a year.
