Volunteer Opportunities

Eldercare volunteers help in the delivery of lifestyle programs, and provide emotional and social support to our residents.

Some of the roles Eldercare volunteers undertake include:

Group Activity Assistants
Games, computer users, film showings, guest speakers, special functions, entertainment, Happy Hour, social gatherings

Transporting Residents
Bus driving or accompanying groups on outings

One to One Visits
Companionship, personal shopper, pet therapy, emotional support, hand massage, reading and reminiscence, cultural community contact

Memory Lane Assistants
General discussion – “remember when…”, themed sessions, guided discussion, developing “memory boxes”

Intergenerational Activities Assistant
Visits from schools, work placements, visits to schools

Gardening Assistant

Arts and Crafts Assistant 

Men’s Shed Assistant
Assisting staff in the provision of group and individual leisure activities to meet the special needs of male residents

Physical Activity Assistant

Musical Activity Assistant
