Eldercare Chief Executive Jane Pickering said Nan and Kevin Sharp had been acknowledged for their efforts at The Lodge residential aged care facility in Wayville along with Ann Kolenberg and Betty Taylor who volunteered at Allambi in Glengowrie.

“Eldercare congratulates Nan, Kevin, Ann and Betty on receiving this wonderful recognition from the State Government,” Ms Pickering said.

“Our volunteers make a vital contribution to the Eldercare community and we value the time, effort and care they generously invest to help improve the lives of our residents.

“I would like to thank them all sincerely for their support in assisting Eldercare staff to deliver the best person-centred care possible across our 12 residential aged care sites.”

Ms Pickering said Eldercare had nearly 300 active volunteers and that the organisation provided a range of volunteering opportunities.

“Our aim is to help volunteers find roles that match their skills and interests from helping with group activities to assisting with gardening, arts and crafts, music and entertainment,” Ms Pickering said.

“We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds and volunteering is a great way to develop new skills, build friendships and make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of our residents.”
