Trowbridge House volunteer celebrated for community service
Trowbridge House residents, staff and volunteers joined together for a special event this week to celebrate volunteer Pam Horsnell.
Mrs Horsnell has received a ‘Long Term Commitment To Community Service’ award from the Federal Member for Sturt The Hon. Christopher Pyne MP in recognition of her contribution and commitment to aged care.
Site Operations Manager Louise Hanialakis said Pam Horsnell had been a volunteer with Eldercare for nine years and was a valued member of the Trowbridge House community.
“Pam generously brings a wealth of life experiences, skills, abilities, compassion, intellect and humour to Trowbridge House without any expectation of reward,” Ms Hanialakis said.
“Pam enriches our residents’ lives in many ways from joining in on a game of ‘Scrabble’ to telling jokes – she always makes someone’s day special.
“Pam has developed everlasting friendships with our residents and her long term commitment demonstrates what a wonderful ‘mate’ she is.”
