Eldercare 'Shares the Dignity' this Christmas

Eldercare has taken part in Share The Dignity's 'It's In The Bag' initiative to help women who are experiencing hardship this Christmas.

Staff at Eldercare’s Head Office supported the charity’s ‘It’s In The Bag’ campaign for their monthly fundraiser in the first week of November and money raised was used to create gift bags containing personal hygiene products for women who are homeless or affected by domestic violence.

Chief Executive Jane Pickering said the response from Eldercare staff was so overwhelming that employees extended their support throughout the entire month of November by creating and donating their own gift bags to the charity.

“Awareness of domestic violence, and its impacts, has increased amongst our employees this year because Eldercare is in the process of becoming a White Ribbon accredited employer,” said Jane.

“Eldercare is committed to creating a safer workplace and to stopping violence against women.

“It is heartening to see this wonderful generosity and kindness from staff as they look to see how they can also make a difference in the wider community by supporting a charity like Share The Dignity.”

Eldercare employees created 30 gift bags for the ‘It’s In The Bag’ Christmas campaign which were donated to Share The Dignity earlier this month.
