Eldercare's Gary Campbell: blogging for better dementia understanding
Eldercare Enrolled Nurse Gary Campbell is helping continue the conversation about dementia care with his latest blog post published by the Aged Care Channel (ACC).
The ACC invited Gary to become a regular guest blogger for its website last year when representatives heard his inspirational acceptance speech after winning the 2015 Aged and Community Services Award (SA/NT) for ‘Best Employee’.
Gary has written three blog posts for the ACC so far and said the inspiration for his latest piece ‘Matter of Time’ came from his personal and professional exploration of living ‘more present in the moment’.
“Validating the importance of each and everyone’s concept of time, and sense of what is real, can be a helpful insight into understanding, communicating, assisting and comforting those living with dementia,” said Gary.
