Redevelopment of Eldercare Oxford underway

Eldercare's redevelopment of its residential aged care facility in the beachside suburb of Hove started today.

Chief Executive Jane Pickering said Eldercare was investing $4.3 million to transform Oxford into ‘a premium facility with a luxurious feel’ and enhance its existing coastal appeal.

“The ‘new’ Oxford will have 27 single rooms including 12 with kitchenettes which are popular features with residents and families,” said Ms Pickering.

“Communal living areas and dining rooms throughout the facility will be renovated to allow for more natural light and the gardens will be extensively upgraded.

Ms Pickering said Eldercare’s redevelopment of Oxford would help the organisation fulfil its purpose of ‘delivering peace of mind’ with its care.

“Eldercare is committed to providing complete care to residents and this means having contemporary and high-quality built environments which feel like home to residents and allow nursing staff to provide the best support possible.”

The refurbishment of Oxford is due to be completed in September and follows major multi-million dollar redevelopments at Allambi in Glengowrie and The Lodge in Wayville which were completed in November last year.
