The Village celebrates milestone birthday with open day

Eldercare hosted a community open day at The Village in Maitland yesterday in celebration of its 40th birthday.

Members of the community, including former employees and Board Members, joined residents, families and staff for afternoon tea to mark the milestone achievement.

Guest speakers included former Director of Nursing and Site Director Judy Walker, former Board Member Dean Polkinghorne, current Eldercare Deputy Board Chair Dr. Di Wickett and Eldercare The Village resident Lorna Arthur.

A time capsule, which was created for The Village’s 30th birthday, was opened on the day and staff and residents were offered the opportunity to contribute items to a new time capsule to mark four decades of The Village.
