South Park, formerly known as the ‘Minlaton Hostel for the Aged’, became a part of Eldercare in 2016 and offers a welcoming environment to the tight-knit resident community.

Located in the Yorke Peninsula region, there is a sense of connection and friendship amongst everyone at South Park. Many of the staff were ‘born and bred’ in Minlaton and have grown up alongside residents, so ‘new’ residents take only a short time to feel comfortable and at home when they enter care at South Park.

  • On-site Hairdressing Salon

South Park features 18 single rooms with private ensuites surrounded by comfortable lounge and sitting areas, well-maintained grounds and gardens and a welcoming sunroom.

An active garden program supports the ‘backyard kitchen garden’, which features established fruit trees, vegetables and herbs that are used to supply the kitchen. South Park’s Hospitality team offers residents an interactive kitchen experience with meals being served ‘across the counter’. ‘Trish’s Kitchen Rules’ is popular with many residents, allowing residents to try new foods from different cultures and reminisce through ‘tried and true’ recipes, with many being from the Depression era.

Health professionals visit regularly including GPs, a podiatrist, dietician and speech pathologist. Residents can also receive hairdressing services ‘in house’ once a week at an additional cost.

South Park’s Chaplain is available to provide you, your representative, family and friends with emotional and practical support whilst you’re in care. Our Chaplain leads reflection services twice a year to celebrate the lives of residents who have passed away and to allow family members to return to South Park and reconnect with friends.

South Park has an active Wellbeing and Lifestyle Program which is driven by residents. Monthly bus tours take former farmers out to see how the crops are performing and track the seasons. Residents often reminisce about how the towns have changed.

Performers regularly volunteer by visiting South Park to play music and provide entertainment, with many acts local to the area.

Children from the Minlaton Area School and Minlaton District Early Learning Centre often visit and members of the local ‘young mothers’ program bring their babies and toddlers to spend time with residents.

South Park’s technology space is available for residents to use to browse the web or connect with friends and family.

To complement our high quality service, we provide an Additional Services package that includes a variety of features for your added care and comfort:
