Allambi redevelopment at Glengowrie to start this week
Residents, families and staff are set to benefit from a major redevelopment of Eldercare's residential aged care facility at Glengowrie which begins this week.
Eldercare Chief Executive Jane Pickering said the $24.5 million upgrade of Allambi would include more than 100 extra beds, a new kiosk and café, additional multi-purpose spaces and home-like sitting areas as well as enhanced on-site car parking facilities.
“One of Eldercare’s key values is our commitment to respecting and valuing a home-like environment,” Ms Pickering said.
“The redevelopment of Allambi will enable us to further honour that commitment by delivering first-class facilities where residents feel, and are, welcomed and supported.
“We understand that moving into residential aged care is a major life change for families and I am confident this upgrade will help them make the transition knowing their loved ones are receiving excellent care in a great environment,” Ms Pickering said.
Ms Pickering said the redevelopment would also include new and upgraded staff areas as well as extensions to the existing kitchen.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for Eldercare to set the highest service standards possible so it is important everyone on-site benefits from this upgrade – a quality work environment for our staff means quality care delivery for our residents and families,” Ms Pickering said.
The redevelopment of Allambi at Glengowrie is due for completion in mid-2016.
