Building works begin at The Lodge

Work began today on the redevelopment of Eldercare's Wayville residential aged care facility The Lodge.

Eldercare Chief Executive Jane Pickering said the redevelopment would deliver significant benefits to residents such as improved dementia support services, communal areas and an on-site cafe.

“The Lodge redevelopment is an exciting project for Eldercare and reflects our dedication to delivering the best person-centred care possible to residents,” Ms Pickering said.

“Enhanced support for people living with dementia at The Lodge will reflect this all-inclusive aged care approach with significant upgrades planned to both our Memory Support Unit and Garden as part of the redevelopment.

“The creation of a new multi-purpose centre and more communal areas will also enable residents and families to spend valuable time together.”

Ms Pickering said resident care at The Lodge would remain top priority during construction.

“This is a significant redevelopment involving demolition, extension and renovation works and extensive planning has been undertaken to ensure resident care always comes first,” Ms Pickering said.

The Lodge redevelopment is due for completion in April 2016.
