Eldercare celebrates pride and diversity at Feast Festival
Eldercare hosted a stall at the 2022 Picnic in the Park, held as part of Feast, Adelaide’s not-for-profit Queer Arts and Cultural Festival, on Sunday 27 November to show its support for LGBTIQ+ residents, staff, volunteers, and families.
Eldercare staff engaged with Feast visitors by handing out jellybeans, ElderPRIDE wristbands and temporary tattoos.
Most attendees were aware of Eldercare’s values and were excited to see that an aged care provider had achieved Rainbow Tick accreditation.
In September 2022, Eldercare received Rainbow Tick reaccreditation in recognition of its LGBTIQ inclusive practice and its efforts to ensure Eldercare is a safe and welcoming place for members of the LGBTIQ community.
Feast began in 1997 providing a safe and inclusive platform for the LGBTIQ+ community to share and express themselves through art and culture.
Feast is one of 13 major festivals in South Australia and is the third largest LGBTIQ+ festival in the country.
