Eldercare 'Picnics in the Park' during FEAST
Eldercare staff met with members of the LGBTI community at the annual FEAST Festival Picnic in the Park event held at Pinky Flat on the weekend.
Eldercare first attended Picnic in the Park in 2016 and hosted a stall again this year to build on the organisation’s commitment to supporting diversity and building relationships, with the LGBTI community.
Eldercare staff members volunteered their time to speak with festival-goers and better understand their aged care needs.
Eldercare is currently working towards becoming a Rainbow Tick accredited aged care provider through its ElderPRIDE Project which aims to ensure that the organisation provides all LGBTI residents, family members and staff with an environment that is safe and welcoming.
To gain Rainbow Tick accreditation, Eldercare must meet a series of LGBTI inclusive care practices and standards which are set by the Commonwealth Government.
Eldercare would like to offer its sincere thanks to local businesses Bowden Print Group and Aidacare for helping sponsor the organisation’s stand at this year’s Picnic in the Park event.
