Volunteers’ labour of love raises residents’ spirits
Two Eldercare Cottage Grove volunteers have crafted handmade cards for each of the residents at the Woodcroft aged care home.
The fortnightly card making workshop led by volunteers Lillian and Polly was recently put on hold due to COVID-19 precautions, but the pair have used their hobby to help stay connected.
“We just wanted the residents to know they weren’t forgotten – it was truly a labour of love,” said Polly.
Cottage Grove resident Margy Hornby appreciated the kind gesture and said they are such lovely handmade cards – ‘made by lovely ladies!’
“We thank them very much for making sure everyone here felt special and remembered,” said Margy.
