Understanding the importance of LGBTIQ+ representation in aged care

Watch Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) Australia’s interview with Eldercare resident Sue about her experiences in aged care.

The interview followed research that revealed aged care homes need greater lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender diverse and intersex (LGBTIQ+) representation, according to the University of South Australia (UNISA).

ElderPRIDE is our commitment to supporting LGBTIQ residents, family members, staff and volunteers to ensure everyone feels welcomed and safe. In September 2019, we received Rainbow Tick accreditation in recognition of our LGBTIQ inclusive practices.
