Revamped Hope Valley aged care home officially opened

Eldercare celebrated the $2 million refurbishment of its aged care home at Hope Valley last week, when the Mayor of Tea Tree Gully and members of the Eldercare Board joined guests to tour the modern and fit-for-purpose site, and officially welcome Hope Valley into Eldercare’s portfolio.

Eldercare’s acquisition of the Hope Valley aged care home in January 2023 prompted the refurbishment, signalling a new era for residents, staff, and the local community, with Eldercare’s values-based approach, high standards, and best practice services now more readily available to those who live in the north-eastern suburbs.

As part of the project, outdated double rooms with shared ensuites were converted into single rooms with private ensuites, which better aligns with modern customer expectations and allows all residents to have their own space and the resulting dignity and autonomy.

The memory support unit, where those living with dementia receive specialised care, was expanded to reflect the growing prevalence of the condition. The new resident gym features specially designed equipment for resident use, supporting on-site allied health staff to facilitate specialist exercise and reablement programs.

A more spacious hairdressing salon offers a comfortable space for residents to enjoy some self-care, and three new serveries have improved the dining experience. Dining rooms and common areas, including reception, are now light and bright after a long overdue update, with new flooring, artwork, furniture, and tech.

Eldercare is thrilled to now have the opportunity to offer high quality residential aged care services to Tea Tree Gully locals in a modern and fit-for-purpose setting.
