Acacia Court

Acacia Court, which was originally built as a hostel for people from eastern European backgrounds, features 70 rooms.

Overview

Originally built as a hostel for people from eastern European backgrounds, Acacia Court features 70 rooms across a range of accommodation types, several sitting and lounge areas as well as a large courtyard which is often used by residents to spend time with their family and friends. The designated memory support unit supports residents who are living with dementia.

All meals are cooked on-site daily by our chef with two courses served for lunch and three courses for dinner each day.

Health professionals visit regularly including a podiatrist, dietitian and speech pathologist.

Residents can have their hair done at the on-site hairdresser, with services available twice a week at an additional cost.

Location and Access

Acacia Court is located in the western Adelaide suburb of Hendon approximately 12km from the Adelaide CBD. The home is a short drive to the coast, local shops, Westfield West Lakes shopping centre and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. There is a bus stop located just outside the main entrance on Tapleys Hill Road and the Seaton Park railway station is also nearby.

Lifestyle

Acacia Court’s comprehensive lifestyle program is designed to cater for, and celebrate, residents from diverse cultural backgrounds. The program is tailored to ensure residents can participate regardless of their care needs and is developed in partnership with residents and their families.

  • pet therapy
  • themed events
  • craft sessions with the local hardware store

Rooms

General Inclusions

  • Rooms range in size from approx. 12 sq. m to 20 sq. m
  • Bathrooms consist of a toilet, shower, vanity basin and vanity cabinet
  • An electric adjustable high/low bed, bedside cabinet and overway table
  • A built-in wardrobe which includes a chest of drawers with a lockable drawer
  • Private phone connection available
  • A call button and access to 24 hour nursing care

The fees associated with residential aged care are made up of three elements:

  • Accommodation
  • Care
  • Additional fees and extra services

The care fee covers day-to-day assistance from carers and clinical staff, wellbeing activities and services such as catering, laundry, cleaning and gardening. It is made up of:

1. Basic Daily Care fee:

Every person entering residential care pays a Basic Daily Care fee which is set at 85% of Centrelink's single, full Age Pension.

2. Means-tested care fee:

An additional contribution towards the cost of your care based on your asset and income levels. This fee is set by the Department of Human Services when they receive your completed Request for a Combined Assets and Income Assessment form.
