Eldercare Evanston Park, a purpose-built two-storey facility which opened in 2008, has a warm, welcoming atmosphere which has allowed the facility’s team to develop a strong sense of community.
The facility has undergone several upgrades since its establishment to enhance the services offered and to refresh the look and feel of the physical environment.
Evanston Park has 100 single rooms all featuring a private ensuite and separate air-conditioning unit and some featuring a kitchenette. Some of these rooms are in the Memory Support Unit, which supports residents living with dementia.
Evanston Park supports ‘ageing in place’ where the level of care provided can be adjusted accordingly if your care needs change.
The various gardens and the two courtyards, found at the centre of the building, offer a peaceful space to enjoy time outdoors.
A hairdresser provides services each week at additional cost and two ‘spa bath’ rooms offer a place for residents to relax and unwind.
An optometrist and audiologist visit regularly and local medical specialists are available to visit upon request. Residents can also access hydrotherapy services at the local STARplex Swim Centre.
A chef prepares all food on-site daily with two courses served for lunch and three courses for dinner each day. A cooked breakfast is offered one day per week with a continental breakfast served on the remaining days.
Spaces are available for hosting private functions on-site with Evanston Park’s Hospitality team available to provide in-house catering at additional cost.
Evanston Park’s Wellbeing and Lifestyle Program is guided by the residents and often changes to adapt to their varying interests, needs and goals. Walking groups, gardening and woodworking projects with the local Bunnings Warehouse and bus trips to the local pub and Barossa Valley are popular Program items and a range of cultural events are celebrated to recognise and embrace the diversity of each resident.
Evanston Park’s strong network of dedicated volunteers support the Wellbeing team with a variety of skills and interests.
Evanston Park has collaborated with Playgroup SA to form ‘Little Elders’, which involves local children under the age of four, and their parent or caregiver, spending time with residents on a weekly basis. Residents are encouraged to play an active role in the Little Elders program by helping to prepare fruit, making play dough, playing skittles, drawing and singing.
Art plays a big role and is used to capture the essence of Evanston Park to show that everybody is included and deserves to be safe and loved.
