Eldercare’s short film named a finalist for industry award

The short film ‘You can ask that’, produced by Eldercare in 2020 to ‘debunk the myths’ that are still out there surrounding LGBTIQ people, has been named a finalist in the 2021 ACSA Aged Care Awards for South Australia.

Eldercare Chief Executive Jane Pickering said the organisation is ‘thrilled’ for the film to be recognised for the Innovation in Service or Design Award.

Launching this film has been one of the highlights of our year so far and the response, from staff especially, has been tremendous,” said Jane.

“This recent announcement shows that this project is being recognised as an innovative approach to challenging the stereotyping of LGBTIQ people and providing insightful information to aged care employees about LGBTIQ issues – something we are very passionate about as a Rainbow Tick accredited organisation.”

The production of the film was made possible through a grant from the Office of Ageing Well and sponsorship by Veolia and Atlas McNeil.

The winners will be announced at the ACSA Aged Care Awards event on Friday 22 October 2021.
