NAIDOC Week 2023: For Our Elders
NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The theme for NAIDOC Week 2023 is ‘For Our Elders’. Across every generation, our Elders have played, and continue to play, an important role and hold a prominent place in our communities and families.
This theme is a timely opportunity to celebrate and honour our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, who have much wisdom to share.
Eldercare acknowledges that the relationship between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non‑Indigenous Australians needs to be based on justice, respect, and equity.
